Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the ChMPP designation, you must meet all four of the following requirements.
1 Current Professional MemberChartered status is only available to active, paid professional members of LifeSciences Australia. | 2 Experience & EducationMeet one of the following criteria: ● Relevant tertiary degree and at least 3 years of professional experience in the medtech or pharmaceutical sector ● Relevant tertiary degree and a PhD or postgraduate qualification (minimum 3 years) in a related field ● At least 5 years of relevant sector experience (without a degree) |
3 Sector CompetencyYou must show proficiency across all relevant capabilities in the ARCS Core Competency Framework, meeting Level 3 advanced competencies — including technical, ethical, leadership, and sector-specific knowledge. | 4 Ongoing Professional DevelopmentYou must have completed a minimum of 24 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) within the last 12 months — including ARCS courses, webinars, workshops, summits, conferences, and volunteering activities. |
How to Apply
Follow these five steps to achieve your ChMPP designation.
1 | Become a Professional MemberBecome a professional member of LifeSciences Australia. You need to be a professional member to apply for Chartered status. |
2 | Build your CPD PortfolioKeep track of your CPD through the CPD tracker on the ARCS website. CPD can include formal training, events, discussions, networking, and reading and listening to Cognitio. To qualify for Chartered you must provide evidence of appropriate and adequate CPD. |
3 | Collect Competency EvidenceStart collecting evidence of how you have demonstrated the competencies outlined in the ARCS Core Competency Framework in your professional practice — covering scientific concepts, therapeutic development and regulation, leadership and professionalism, and communication and teamwork. Supporting evidence might include emails, presentations, project plans, peer feedback, and reports. |
4 | Complete the ApplicationSubmit the ChMPP application form — available on the LifeSciences Australia website — together with your required documentation and CV via the submission portal. The ARCS Professional Development Committee will review your application. |
5 | Receive Confirmation and Pay the FeeUpon confirmation of acceptance, an invoice for the Chartered Membership fee will be issued. This fee is payable once only. Ongoing Chartered status is contingent on continued payment of the annual Professional Membership fee. |
