What is the process for achieving ChMPP status?

The process involves the following steps:

Initial Assessment: Review the eligibility criteria and gather documentation demonstrating your adherence to the Core Competency Framework, professional experience, and CPD activities.

Application Submission: Complete the ChMPP application form on the LifeSciences Australia website and submit it with your CV and required documentation.

Application Review: The ARCS Professional Development Committee reviews your application against the eligibility criteria.

Decision Notification: ARCS will notify you of the outcome. Successful applicants receive confirmation of their ChMPP designation.

Postnominal Issuance: Upon approval, you will receive the ChMPP postnominal and a formal certificate of recognition.

Who reviews my application and what does the review process involve?

Your application will be reviewed by the ARCS Professional Development Committee. The review process verifies that you meet the eligibility criteria and may include an assessment of your professional experience, competency framework adherence, and professional development records.

Is there a fee associated with the application?

Yes, an application fee of $300 AUD (ex GST) for ARCS professional members is payable at the time of decision notification. This fee covers processing your application, the initial review, and one re-submission if required. If further re-submissions are necessary, a separate application fee applies per submission.

What are the CPD requirements to maintain ChMPP status?

To maintain your ChMPP status, you must complete a minimum of 6 hours of professional development activities each year. Recognised activities include:

ARCS Courses, Webinars and Workshops: Participation in ARCS-organised events designed to enhance your professional skills and knowledge.

Conferences and Summits: Attendance at ARCS conferences, summits, and other industry events offering learning opportunities and sector updates.

Volunteering Activities: Serving on committees, facilitating courses, or acting as interest area conveners.

Other Recognised Activities: Any additional relevant activities contributing to your professional growth, subject to approval by the ARCS Professional Development Committee.

How do I maintain my ChMPP status once achieved?

To maintain your ChMPP status you must:

Complete a minimum of 6 hours of professional development activities every year.

Maintain your LifeSciences Australia membership by renewing it annually. Failure to renew your Professional Membership will result in the loss of Chartered Status and associated post-nominals.
