Virtual/Interactive Classroom
Virtual Classrooms are web-based training sessions, capped at 10-12 people, that take place in real-time where participants undertake some theory as well as interaction within group discussion, polls, whiteboards etc. As you and the trainer and the other students are on-line at the same time, this type of event is also know as synchronous elearning (you will have live interaction with the instructor and other participants in the classroom). Access to a virtual classroom requires one computer, one phone and one internet connection with dial in information provided by ARCS. Participants gain remote access to the session by using the telephone and the internet (via Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox as the program is not compatible with any other browsers). A Microsoft Office download is also required to access the virtual classroom. Instructions on how to download this will be emailed with the login instructions one week from the event. As the session combines the internet with a phone-bridge (traditional teleconference) this allows participants to both listen and view the session and then interact with the facilitator/trainer and other classmates.
