Team leaders, supervisors, managers and employees who needs to be able to manage and resolve conflict positively and in a professional manner within various research teams and/or departments.

Course Overview:

This program is designed to enhance your conflict resolution skills by exploring what conflict is and how conflict affects people. You will look at the positive and negative aspects of conflict, and identify the most effective approach to managing conflicts.

On completion of this program you should be able to:

  • Recognise the difference between functional and dysfunctional conflict
  • Recognise the early signs of conflict arising and how to avoid escalation
  • Identify the different levels of conflict
  • Select the appropriate conflict management styles
  • Analyse the needs of each party in a dispute
  • Overcome the barriers to effective communication experienced in conflict
  •  Develop skills to resolve conflict in a flexible manner
