This is a fabulous opportunity to broaden your horizons, expand your knowledge or to develop new skills with the assistance of a well-established and prestigious scholarship - worth up to $10,000.

What is the Osmond-Russell Scholarship?
The Osmond-Russell Scholarship was established in 1987, in memory of the late Andrea Osmond-Russell. The aim of the scholarship is to facilitate further education in an area of interest to the successful applicant and also to the membership of ARCS.

Who should apply?
The scholarship is open to all ARCS full financial members.

What does the Scholarship provide?
The scholarship provides funds to undertake an approved educational activity. The actual amount provided for the successful applicant is dependent on the requirements of the successful applicant to achieve the educational goals.

What sort of educational activities could I request the Scholarship for? The educational activity should, of course, be related to the pharmaceutical, devices industry, diagnostic or related health care industries and will often be related to fields such as Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Trials, Data Management, Health Economics, Medical Devices, Diagnostics and/or Medical Information. All ideas and applications will be considered.

In the past, recipients have used the Scholarship undertake study or research projects or to attend overseas meetings, participate in conferences or attend intensive courses (click the  ORS Past Winners link to see a list of past winners and their activities). However, the Selection Committee is open to all suggestions as long as they have strong educational content that would benefit the applicant and the membership. You may propose to undertake some form of research on behalf of ARCS . If you have any queries, call the Professional Development Manager of ARCS for more information and assistance.

What is the term of the Scholarship?
You can use the funds at any time within the ARCS year - up to the end of June 2008.

What are my responsibilities if I am successful?
The successful applicant should undertake to complete the educational activity as included in their application. The successful applicant should also be prepared to share their knowledge with the ARCS membership, by way of a short presentation to the Membership and an article on the educational activity undertaken, which may be printed in the ARCS Newsletter. The successful applicant will join the selection panel to judge the 2008 applications.

Each year members are elected by the membership at the preceding Annual General Meeting.
