Thank you to those who made a carbon offset contribution when registering for the 2009 ARCS Annual Scientific Congress. We raised a total of $518.10 from 157 delegates.
ARCS have forwarded your contributions to Greenfleet, an independent not-for-profit environmental charity who establish biodiverse forests to sequester carbon, amongst other environmental initiatives. Greenfleet has approval from the Department of Climate Change as an accredited Greenhouse Friendly™ Abatement Provider.
Thanks to your contributions, Greenfleet will future offset 42.10 tonnes CO2-e emissions as a result of 157 delegates participating in the carbon offset option. Based on our calculations (our average tree absorbs at least 268 kg carbon over its lifetime), 157 bio diverse native trees will be planted.
