New to clinical research management (with at least 6 months monitoring experience)? You may be eligible to be certified as an ACM in clinical research management
If this is you, you may want to start on the path of being an ARCS Certified Member (ACM) in clinical research management.
An ACM in clinical research management is a full ARCS member certified through training and experience (with a minimum of 1 years relevant work experience with at least 6 months of independent monitoring), a commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and the ARCS Code of Conduct.
Training for an ACM needs to be evidenced through one of the following:
- Attending the required ARCS training workshops identified on the Clinical Research Professional Development Pathway (and successful completion of the ARCS on-line assessments)
- Completion of structured, employer provided training courses as evidenced through training certificates and successful completion of the ARCS on-line assessments
- Completion of one of the Graduate Programs in Clinical Research offered jointly by ARCS and the University of Melbourne
- By providing evidence of an international accreditation recognised by ARCS.
What is the process?
- Review all the requirements for being an ARCS Certified Member (ACM) in Clinical Research Management located in the Information Pack
- Complete the application form and attach supporting documentation (e.g. CV, training records, training agendas etc)
- Send in your application form with supporting documents to training@arcs.com.au
- Make your payment on-line
- Please login to the ARCS Members Area, select Training ----> Register ----> Type = Certification ----> ARCS Certified Member (ACM) Application ----> Add to My Choices ----> Register Now
- Once the application has been sent in, leave up to 2 weeks for processing
- ARCS will contact you to arrange a time convenient to you to complete the assessment
- Once access is granted, you will have one week to complete the assessment. The assessment has a pass mark of 80%
Applications to be an ACM will be approved by the ARCS Professional Development Manager and endorsed by the ARCS Board.

- Cost of certification if you have not attended the relevant ARCS courses and are required to undertake knowledge assessments - $375.00
- Certification via ACRP or ICR within the last 2 years (ACM or ACPM applicants) - $195.00
